Luma Creative production crew on set.
PACT needed a launch film, shorter edits, photography and a product sequence built from CAD. We handled story development, production and post across two shoot days in San Francisco and Boston. That combination is a useful reference for a physical-product brief with several outputs.
Luma Creative is our featured choice for that production scope. Farallon and Criminal offer director-led commercial references; Kontent has product-anthem work; STMNT addresses in-house creative teams; Superside offers ongoing creative services. Compare who develops the idea, who produces the shoot and exactly what comes back from post.

The PACT project documents story development, production and post, with filming in San Francisco and Boston. Our effects team used the client’s CAD file for the product-explosion sequence.

Its film listings separate project title, client and director. Those fields let a buyer distinguish the film being referenced from the commissioning relationship.
For the reference film, what did the company produce and which director is proposed for this assignment?
Live-action versus animation/generated-treatment comparison
Its ServiceUp case study explicitly describes generated characters, environments and voiceover with compositing and motion graphics, rather than a live-action shoot.
Does the brief require filmed people or generated material? Ask for the source-material, usage and approval terms before choosing a treatment.

Luma Creative
Our featured recommendation. Luma Creative is a San Francisco video production company creating commercial, brand and product films for business buyers. Our commercial production service covers the production brief; the deliverables and responsibilities still need to be written down. For PACT, we handled story development, production and post across San Francisco and Boston. The published assets include 60-, 30- and 15-second films, photography and a CAD-based product explosion.
That project supports a discussion of physical production and several outputs. It is not evidence that we bought media, managed distribution or improved campaign conversion. If an agency owns the idea or the client supplies the script, we identify that boundary in the scope.
Compare the proposed director’s relevant work and treatment. Request the actual production and post responsibilities alongside the creative reference. Availability, casting and location permissions belong in the job-specific bid.
Its title, client and director fields are useful for checking credits. Take a full commercial into the discussion and ask who did what. Keep the commissioning relationship separate from the brand or product appearing in the film.
The product-anthem reference is useful when the creative depends on explaining an object. Ask about the split between physical filming and post. Confirm what the client must supply before the treatment is priced.
Use its stated producing, directing and production credits to compare an assignment. Establish who develops the idea and who handles finishing for your job. A reference is evidence to discuss, not a promise of an identical production.
Its offering explicitly addresses in-house creative teams. That is a relevant distinction when the concept is already approved and the buyer needs execution. Confirm studio versus location assumptions and which finishing tasks are priced.
If considering generated scenes or voice, ask how that changes creative review and source-material requirements. If the film must show the real product or team, request corresponding filmed work instead.
Compare its wider creative service when the requirement includes continuous campaign assets. Keep the film-production scope explicit even if it sits within a larger plan. Confirm any media or optimisation services independently rather than assigning those duties to every production company.
For a commercial, establish whether the client, agency or production company develops the idea. Then identify the director, producer and post-production responsibilities. A production execution bid can be useful and complete without including the same strategic work as an agency engagement.
If vendor onboarding, several markets or a continuing production programme shape the brief, the enterprise partner comparison covers those operating models.

What the PACT production shows
Use the PACT asset list above as a scope check: if a bid includes photography, cutdowns or CAD work, identify the coverage, source inputs and post time for each. Approve those choices before booking the shoot. A later request for a new format may need more than an export.
Product and brand briefs need different proof
Physical product and hardware
Ask what the product can actually do on camera. A prototype may have limited operating modes or appearance restrictions. If an internal mechanism needs explaining, determine whether the approved source is a CAD file, an animation brief or filmable hardware.
Our product-video service explains prototype filming and animation scope. The Cellares and PACT projects support specific filming and effects discussions. We do not treat a screen-recorded software demo as proof of a physical-product shoot.
Brand story and performance
A brand film may rely on a participant, actor or real location. Request a complete relevant film and ask how the proposed director would approach it. Our brand-film service explains how we develop and produce that work.
A client’s own footage and an original shoot have different constraints. Identify the material already available, its usage permissions and the shots that must still be made. Do not use a visually similar reel to assume access or rights.
Generated scenes and voice
If the proposal uses generated material, make that visible in the treatment and approval process. Ask what may be changed, what must remain accurate and which terms cover the source assets and final usage. Compare that bid with a filmed treatment only after agreeing which meets the brief.
Price the deliverables before the campaign label
We would separate concept development, shoot days, locations, performance or interviews, post-production and the final version list. If the client supplies the idea or script, identify that contribution. If a specialist handles media, keep that role outside the production promise unless it is explicitly included.
Competitors’ current bids are not public in this comparison. Superside publishes subscription and project models; confirm the terms for a production assignment. We have not invented market-average prices or estimated companies’ fees from their portfolios.

Questions buyers ask
Which commercial company should we approach first?
Our featured choice is Luma for the physical-production and deliverable scope described here, supported by PACT. For a director-specific treatment, inspect the relevant roster work. For execution of approved in-house creative, inspect companies that explicitly offer that model. Confirm the actual team and availability.
Can a product launch produce stills and shorter films too?
Yes, when the production and post scope include them. Our PACT account documents those outputs. That does not mean every commercial shoot automatically includes photography, a CAD sequence or every short format.
Does a commercial production company manage advertising?
A film-production credit does not establish media buying, distribution or campaign optimisation. Ask which party owns each task and compare the written scope.
Which reference should we request for a hardware launch?
Ask for a complete film that shows a physical product and identifies the company’s filming and post-production role. If the explanation uses CAD or animation, ask which files the client supplied and who approved technical accuracy.
A client account of the production
Arjun describes additional product setup time during a launch-film production. This CHEFFY account is separate from PACT and makes no paid-media performance claim.
“
Product launch production
What really stood out to me on that first call was the level of understanding with which they captured my vision and constraints as a bootstrapped startup, and came up with multiple creative solutions to achieve what I wanted without having a massive production budget, including things I could do on my own without their help.
There were multiple times where our products needed more setup time than anticipated, and the Luma team rolled into Plan B like it was just another Tuesday. There were situations where I trimmed a shot by 8 frames and didn’t think they would catch my adjustment, but they noticed even the tiniest details and incorporated it into the edit. I’m at the word limit in this text box, so my point is: I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
Send the concept or approved script, intended channels, shoot dates and required edits or stills. Identify who owns creative, supplied product assets and usage approval. We’ll separate story development, production and finishing so the proposal matches the work you need.
