Mobility, EV and Automotive Video Production | San Francisco Bay Area
Luma Creative produces video for mobility, electric vehicle, autonomous driving and car sharing companies across the San Francisco Bay Area. The work covers commercials, product and platform explainers, and event capture, and it usually involves filming vehicles in motion.

What does it take to film a vehicle in motion?
Filming a moving vehicle needs three things a normal shoot does not: a camera car or a rig mounted to the subject vehicle, a closed or permitted stretch of road, and a driver who is part of the crew rather than a member of the public. In the Bay Area that also means a film permit, and often a police presence if a road is being held. The shot list has to survive the permit rather than the other way round, because the location dictates what is possible.
What this sector usually needs
Vehicle commercials
Rigs, tracking shots, and a schedule built around the light rather than the office day. Golden hour is short and there is no version of this where you make it back.
Platform and product explainers
Car sharing, charging and autonomy are services rather than objects, so these films mix real footage with motion graphics that show what the software is doing.
Autonomous vehicle work
Filming autonomy carries its own confidentiality constraints, and the interesting footage is frequently the sensor view rather than the exterior.
Permits and locations
We handle the permit process for San Francisco and the surrounding counties. It is the part that determines whether the shoot happens at all, and it is not the part to leave until the week before.
Working with Luma Creative
We are based in San Francisco and hold the local knowledge that vehicle work depends on: which roads can be closed, what a permit actually takes, and where the light is at the hour you need it.
